Lifelong health and fitness starts in the kitchen, and the foundation of a healthy diet is minimally-processed whole foods. What this looks like in practice varies from person to person, but the general prescription is the same: Stay away from highly-processed foods filled with grains and sugars and instead try to get most of your meals from high quality, nutritionally-dense meats and seafood, seasonal vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds. Invest in a frying pan, a knife, and some spices and your body will thank you for it!

Living in Charlottesville means great access to local meats and produce – the Saturday farmer’s market, JM Stock Provisions, and the new Timbercreek Market are all within a leisurely walk/bike from the gym, to name just a few places!
